Wikwemikong Tourism

In 2007 a Tourism Strategic Planning session was initiated with industry stakeholders in the community to identify a direction for the growth of Aboriginal Tourism in Wikwemikong. As a result, Wikwemikong Tourism was formed as department within the Wikwemikong Development Commission to initiate programming that was focused on capturing an equitable share of the tourism industry on Manitoulin Island.

Mission

"To provide a foundation for sustainable tourism development through the creation of core support infrastructure, marketing/branding and the delivery of quality market ready services. As the coordinating body for tourism it is our responsibility to formulate a long term Tourism Plan which is focused on improving the overall economic capacity of Wikwemikong."
